Clinical Evaluation of Remicut^(®)(Emedastine difumarate) in the Treatment of Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Abstract
|
|
|
Clinical effects on Emedastine difumarate for perennial allergic rhinitis were evaluated as a single open trial method. Twenty-two patients(male : 11, female : 11) were select ed for this study. Emedastine difumartate(2 mg per single dose, twice a day) was given for 2 weeks to the perennial allergic rhinitis patients who were confirmed by allergic skin prick tests, IgE PRIST scores and RAST scores.
The improvement of clinical symptoms, physical findings and side-effects were recorded.
The global symptomatic improvement was 86.4 % and satisfactory rate answered by the patient was 81.8 %. There were 3 cases of side effects(2 cases of sleepiness. 2 cases of lethargies but 1 case appears simultaneously).
In conclusion, emedastine difumarate is a safe and effective anti-allergic drug which has antihistamine and anti-chemical mediators releasing action.
